Our Curriculum
Bradford Forster Academy Curriculum
Bradford Forster Academy’s curriculum is fused with its vision, which is to meet the needs of a diverse group of young people, many of whom experience severe social disadvantage:
Through God’s love, we inspire young people to become outstanding and ambitious for themselves through respect, growth and a sense of community.
- We teach with excellence.
- We live from faith.
- We model exemplary behaviour.
- We inspire greatness.
We have 5 periods every day, making 25 periods in the week. There is a Tutor Time every morning with a 2 minute silence reflection from Monday – Friday. Break (20 minutes) is organised alongside a 15 minute Collective Worship and Guided Reading session. Students have a 30 minute lunch at the beginning or end of Period 4.
School starts at 8:25am and finishes at 2:50pm for Year 7 and Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 finish at 2:55pm and Year 11 finish at 3pm – although the expectation is that students will attend afterschool intervention sessions until 3.45pm.
Personal Development is taught once per timetable cycle to all year groups, this curriculum is designed to reflect spirituality and cover aspects from careers and PSHE.
All students attend at least one assembly and collective worship each week that is well planned and which supports the delivery of social, moral, spiritual and cultural aspects of learning, including the promotion of British values.
